New Year, New Flu

With the ushering in of the New Year comes a wealth of other new things as well. It’s a new dawn, it’s a new day. It’s a new life. And you’re feeling good.

The question, though, is how long will you remain feeling good without getting a flu shot?

The answer is probably as long as most of us will actually keep our New Year’s Resolutions (IE, not very).

Unfortunately, the New Year brings with it a new flu season, but the Community Health Centers of Central Wyoming are working to prevent the spreading of influenza as much as they possibly can.

CHCCW also strives to address health issues before they become health issues.

Because of this, the Community Health Center is hosting a “FluFit” Event on Wednesday, January 16 from 10 am to 2 pm. Pop in to get a flu vaccination for only $30 – a small fee to avoid that nasty flu bug. Insurance is accepted, too. Also, for anyone between the ages of 50-75, FREE cancer screenings will be available.

After you take care of business, enjoy a cookie and drink on us!

Additionally, On Wednesday, January 30, from 10 am to 2 pm, the Community Health Center invites you to join them for refreshments and pivotal information about the benefits of your Medicare package. Members of the CHCCW care team will be on hand to answer questions and provide information about their free annual wellness visits for Medicare patients, advance care planning, and other Medicare offerings also. Patient Support Services will be there as well to talk about Medicare plans and sliding scale fees, and to register you as a patient if you are not already signed up.

Representatives from Meals on Wheels and the Casper Senior Center will also be on hand, speaking about the services that each of them offers to the Casper community. There will be refreshments, door prizes, giveaways, and more.

Better still, by scheduling a wellness screening, you are automatically entered into a drawing for one of two grand prizes of a free dental exam with x-rays and cleaning (a service not provided by Medicare). Do you need transportation?  Call Tammi at 307-233-6017 by January 21 to reserve free transportation through CATC.
