CASPER, Wyo. — Single-parents and their children looking for a new start have found the support and stability at Seton House to change their lives. These opportunities would not be possible without the open-ended support of the Casper community. Through volunteerism, donations of food, furniture, household goods, and financial gifts, more than 4,000 parents and children have been served.
“Our goal is to meet people where they are and provide them with the tools to achieve their dreams” says Deanna Frey, the Seton House Executive Director.
In its 30th year Seton House has encountered new challenges but has continued to serve participants in-person while implementing a new opportunity for growth during the pandemic. Seton House is excited to launch Connections, an evidence-based Personal and Professional Development program designed to provide hope, resources, and a plan.

“This program will allow participants to see themselves in a new light and develop a positive self-image which enables them to seek, obtain, and retain employment that pays a living wage. Casper businesses will have access to applicants who are skilled and prepared to enter the workforce. The community benefits as participants become active consumers and give back by serving as role models for others,” says JoLynn Wright, Programs Manager at Seton House.
Seton House is participating in WyoGives, a state-wide virtual day of giving on July 15, 2020. WyoGives is raising awareness for Wyoming’s nonprofits and providing many opportunities for participating organizations to receive matching gifts and extra donations through contests spread throughout the day. For 24 hours, Seton House will raise money that will go directly toward serving program participants.
“Ninety five percent of our funding comes from donations,” Frey said. “With the pandemic, Seton House had to cancel our major fund raising event for the year. Our hope is to use WyoGives to share our vision for families with current and new donors and inspire them to be partner with us as we strengthen our community.”
As an added bonus, thanks to the generosity of two donors, there are two amazing prizes to raffle that day. A ½ Montana beef (processed, wrapped and delivered) and a golf package for four at the Devil’s Tower “The Golf Club” (complete with $200 in gift cards to be used at The Club).
