Dancing with the Stars of Casper is an annual fundraising event benefitting the Mercer Family Resource Center. It is less than a month away, taking place on October 23, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. at the Ford Wyoming Center. Our “Villains” are spicing up their dance routines to provide a spectacular performance, and our celebrity panel of judges is sure to engage the audience!

Kicking the night off with their fierce talent will be Dance Evolutions, Inc., who said they are doing a mashup of songs about four special villains and how they love being bad! “We have 17 dancers in our dance company that are so excited to perform and show off their villainous side! Dance Evolutions was inspired to dance for Mercer FRC because we always love dancing for this event! It is one of the highlights of our year! We love the services that Mercer provides for the youth and families in our community! We also love to show our dancers how important their services are to our community.” Their favorite villains are Maleficent, the evil queen; Cruella; and Ursula! Keep an eye out, as they all may be playing a special part in their dance.

Bringing the night to a final close will be Katelyn O’Shaughnessy with K2TV Wyoming’s News Leader and Lydia Anikin with the University of Wyoming Family Practice. Katelyn was inspired to dance because “It is a fun event for a great cause. I love that Mercer supports the community and helps locals in need.” Katelyn shared that her favorite childhood villain was “Ursula from the Little Mermaid; she slays in ‘Poor Unfortunate Souls.’” Lydia was inspired to dance because “In fall 2020 I met the lovely, kind people at Mercer and learned about the services they offer to the Casper Community, and since then I have wanted to be a part of their cause.” Lydia’s favorite childhood villain was “Professor Snape in Harry Potter: he was dark, dangerous and intelligent.”
