Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Community Health Centers (CHCs) have been key to ensuring everyone can access affordable, quality healthcare, during and beyond the pandemic. They are locally run, yet part of a national network serving nearly 29 million people nationwide. They save American taxpayers $24 billion a year in healthcare costs by preventing and managing chronic diseases.
CHCs are not ordinary medical clinics; they are also problem-solvers who reach beyond the exam room to care for the whole person by providing access to necessities like food and housing resources. Community Health Centers care for everyone, regardless of insurance status. As unemployment rises and more Americans lose their employee-sponsored healthcare, Community Health Centers will be the key to keeping America healthy.
The mission of Community Health Centers remains crucial today because access to basic care remains a challenge in parts of the United States. Many people live in remote and underserved communities where there is a shortage of providers and, in many cases, the nearest doctor or hospital can be as far as a 50-mile drive to another county.
Wyoming Family Practice is a NCQA-certified patient medical home. This means we provide the most advanced care with use of a comprehensive electronic health records (EHR) system, with data-driven analytics, centered on sound clinical decision support. We offer full spectrum family medicine. Services include obstetrics, pediatrics, women’s health, preventative healthcare, and geriatric services at all locations, including the clinic, hospital, nursing home and the home. In addition, we offer telehealth services and behavioral health services.
Our clinic accepts Medicare, Medicaid, and most commercial insurances, and offers sliding fee discounts for those who qualify. Wyoming Family Practice is committed to respecting our patients’ privacy and autonomy. We are honored to serve as a healthcare clinic that provides quality, compassionate care to thousands of patients every year.
As part of National Health Center Week 2022 (August 7–13), we invite you to support a Community Health Center in your neighborhood and celebrate their mission and accomplishments.
