CASPER, Wyo. — On Jan. 17, 2023, IMPACT 307, a business development program of the University of Wyoming with business incubators in Laramie, Casper, and Sheridan, will continue to build upon the successes of its Casper Start-Up Challenge with a seventh year of the competition and an increased total $100,000 seed fund.
“2022 was a great year for the challenge but we are looking forward for 2023,” said Eric Schlidt, Director of IMPACT Casper. “We are thrilled that the TW Foundation has been so generous and allowed us to increase seed funds and ensure the challenge is around for years to come.”
Registration for the 2023 Casper Start-Up Challenge is now open and closes Feb. 8. The application process is free, simple and, in most cases, can be done in under an hour. Ten semifinalists will be selected and semifinalist interviews will take place the week of Feb. 20. Judges will narrow it down to five finalists and these finalists will work with IMPACT staff to get prepared for the final pitch, which will take place on April 13. Start-Up winners will have the opportunity to pitch for a portion of the seed fund after the pitch night presentation. In addition to the seed funding, a select few companies will be selected to receive office space in the IMPACT Casper facility for a year. A registration link and more information can be found at IMPACT307.org.
Returning for this year’s challenge, the top five Start-Up Challenge finalists will receive a sponsored entry to the Advance Casper Entrepreneur’s Boot Camp held in March. Entrepreneurs will be taken on a holistic journey through conceptualization to materialization of a business. The Boot Camp agenda topics include legal, financial, market development, competitive analysis, intellectual property, team development and so much more.
The Casper Start-Up Challenge is made possible thanks to sponsorship from TW Foundation, Advance Casper, First Interstate Bank, Hilltop Bank, Oil City News and WIDC Frontier CDC. For more information on the Casper start-up challenge, please contact Eric Schlidt at 307-315-6401 or eschlid1@uwyo.edu.
