Mercer Family Resource Center

Well, it’s one for the money, two for the show, three to get ready now go, Casper, go!

Get dressed up, gather your friends and come support a good cause on Oct. 21 at the Ford Wyoming Center, where Mercer Family Resource Center (Mercer FRC) will be putting on its 13th annual Dancing with the Stars of Casper: Elvis Night! Beginning at 6 p.m., this entertaining fundraiser features well-known community leaders who will be dancing for your vote and dollars to support Mercer FRC’s mission to provide education, counseling and prevention services that build stronger and healthier youth and families in our community. Mercer FRC, formerly known as the Mercer House, has served Natrona County since 1971.

These dance couples, made up of local stars paired with dance professionals, train for months, arranging impressive choreography, designing stunning costumes and practicing exciting routines to entertain you and our celebrity judges! After each dance, a panel of judges, including a renowned dance pro, provides comments and feedback while the audience votes for their favorite act for the coveted “People’s Choice Award.” Enjoy a delicious plated dinner, paired with table wine provided by Uncorked, while you bid on silent and live auction packages — including unique items, local experiences and trips of a lifetime. Come prepared to get all shook up, and celebrate the night with the King of Rock and Roll!

Each year, Mercer FRC serves over 2,000 individuals through parenting classes as well as early intervention and empowerment programs for youth. We reach an additional 5,000 participants through community engagement activities and free annual events. Our 10,000 hours of direct service include Mental Health First Aid, trainings for substance abuse and suicide prevention and awareness campaigns.

Our parenting courses include Strengthening Families, Becoming a Love and Logic Parent, Circle of Security and Nurtured Heart Approach. We also offer case management, counseling, referral services, programs for drug, alcohol and tobacco/vaping and youth education classes such as Anger Management, Corrective Thinking and Something for Nothing.

In addition, we are the lead agency for the Youth Empowerment Council and Natrona County Prevention Coalition, as well as the fiscal agent for the Suicide Prevention Task Force and the Natrona County Homeless Student Fund. Over 90% of the people we serve report improvement after participating in our evidence-based programs. With the continued goal of decreasing risk factors and increasing protective factors, Natrona County will be a cohesive community with strong families and healthy youth.

We would not be able to provide this wide range of services without contributions from our generous donors. On behalf of our staff, clients and their families, thank you for your continued support. Please come enjoy a thrilling night of food, fun and incredible dance moves at one of the most entertaining fundraisers of the year! While you’re there, don’t forget to bid on the wide variety of live and silent auction packages, participate in the People’s Choice Award competition by voting for your favorite dance act, and know you are supporting work that makes a positive difference in our community. Mercer FRC programs are proactive, impactful and accessible to anyone, and you can’t help falling in love with our organization.
