On a scale of 1–10, how excited are you for Mercer Family Resource Center’s annual Dancing with the Stars of Casper…Can you say 10? If you need a little push, more information, or a reason to join us on Oct. 21, just give us a minute! Dancing with the Stars of Casper is in its 13th year, meaning it’s a polished, well-ran evening with the kinks worked out. You’ll arrive at the Ford Wyoming Center and check in with our friendly, smiling volunteers.
We’ll show you to your seat, where the table will be set for the evening to come…dinner, drinks, dessert and an incredible show! You can get some complimentary wine from Uncorked or purchase a handmade cocktail, such as our themed specialty drink from Backwards Distilling called “Jailhouse on the Rocks.” This tasty beverage will be promoted in their tasting room all week with a kick-back to Mercer. Walk around the arena floor, taking in the excitement of the dancers, judges and fellow guests or get your photo with our Elvis impersonator. As you wander, you’ll see the beautifully curated auction packages…for trips, date-night, family-fun, hunting, adrenaline adventures, professional sporting events, art and much more.
Then the show will begin! From your table, you’ll be transported into this year’s theme: Elvis! We’ll begin the auction and live entertainment. Bidding is made easy as you’ll be able to view and place bids from your cellphone. We will kick off your entertainment with a Grand Opening performance. Then some of our high-profile community members (both stars and professionals) will perform choreographed dance routines, while others are taking on the role of Judge and will be providing “constructive” commentary like only our fellow Casperites can. Will there be rappelling, trapezing, fire, magic, hot rods…you truly never know until you’re there! The Dancers are also performing for you, in hopes of winning your votes the People’s Choice Award. You can vote on your device or at registration; each dollar equals one vote for your favorite couple. However, do you want to know the best reason for coming to Dancing with the Stars of Casper? You’ll be supporting Mercer Family Resource Center, which works with thousands of our fellow community members. Mercer helps keep youth in their homes with their families, provides parents the tools and support they need to take on the rewarding but sometimes difficult job of parenting, teaches teens the value of learning from their mistakes and provides counseling for families, couples and individuals. The agency partners with over 60 local service agencies to work on common prevention goals, supports families and survivors of suicide and provides a safe place for teens to get positive mentorship and pro-social activities. That’s a lot of support you can give to others in our community in just one evening!
