CASPER, Wyo. – Snowmobiles and snow coaches will be welcome into Yellowstone National Park starting Sunday, December 15.

According to a release from Yellowstone National Park, visitors will be able to travel on the park’s interior roads on commercially-guided snowmobiles and snow coaches from the north, west and south entrances.

Visitors with the proper permits can take non-guided snowmobile trips.

The release says the East Entrance Road over Sylvan Pass will open on Sunday, December 22.

The road from the park’s north entrance in Gardiner, Montana, through Mammoth Hot Springs to Cooke City, Montana, is plowed and open to all vehicles through the year.

The YNP says closures can happen due to weather, and that park lodging and services are limited during the winter.
