A WYDOT snowplow driver was transported to Sweetwater Memorial Hospital after he was hit from behind by a semi-tractor trailer near on I-80 Rock Springs on Thursday morning.
According to SweetwaterNOW, the Wyoming Highway Patrol says plow driver Jake Webber was traveling around 35 mph while clearing the eastbound lane and shoulder when a semi-tractor trailer driven by Angel Hernandez hit the plow from behind.
The plow was sent off the right side of the road and overturned. The tractor-trailer then jack-knifed, coming to a rest near the plow.

Hernandez reported no injuries at the scene, and Webber was transported to a hospital with unknown but non life-threatening injuries.
Road conditions at the time were icy with blowing snow.
“We are asking the public to remember to slow down and adjust your driving to current road and weather conditions. These plow drivers are our friends, neighbors and family members. We all want them to come home safely every night,” WYDOT District Maintenance Engineer Tory Thomas said.
