CASPER, Wyo. — Yellowstone National Park’s Old Faithful Inn, Roosevelt Lodge, and Grant Village will remain closed for the 2020 summer season.  Certain limited features and amenities are expected to become available when the Park opens, tentatively, on June 15.

This information comes via Xanterra Travel Collection’s President and CEO Andrew Todd. Xanterra is a private company contracted by the US National Parks Service to provide lodging and services to the Park.

Only cabins with private bath would be available after the June 15 opening. Campgrounds are expected to be open, but no road-based or package tours. “Grab-and-go” dining and controlled-access shopping would also be available.

Xanterra’s Yellowstone Lodges General Manager Mike Keller said only 80% of the typical 3,500 lodging operations staff would be hired. Sit-down dining is cancelled for the 2020 season.

According Yellowstone Insider, reservations for the 2021 season will open June 1st. People looking to make reservations must do so on the booking page of the Yellowstone National Parks and Lodges website. Xanterra’s call center is currently inundated with calls regarding cancellations and rescheduling  for the 2020 season.

Group sales will not be allowed, as defined as five rooms per reservation/party. Group reservations must be made through the group reservations sales department. Further information on booking for the 2021 season can be found on Yellowstone Insider.
