CASPER, Wyo. — An August report from Wyoming’s Economic Analysis Division shows that mining sector 4% sales and use tax collections in June were up from 2018.
“Wyoming’s collection of the 4 percent sales and use tax related to the mining sector reached $11.3 million in June of 2019 (these are July 2019 collections that for the most part represent sales that took place in June 2019), $1.3 million higher than June collections from a year ago,” a Thursday, Aug. 8 announcement states.
Collections in the first half of 2019 are up 50% compared with the average over the first half of the previous three years.

That translates to $21.8 million more than the three year average.
