CASPER, Wyo. — Douglas and Converse County Rural Fire volunteer firefighters responded to a fire south of Douglas near Cold Springs Road on Wednesday, Aug. 28.
The 25-acre fire has been extinguished, according to firefighter Jeff Shupe.
He said that the area is being monitored due to high temperatures.

Shupe said that about 6,000 gallons of water were used to put out the blaze. He added that the main difficulty firefighters faced was that the small fire was in an area with “pretty gnarly terrain.”
Two 6 x 6 army-style firefighting trucks were involved in the firefighting efforts.
The cause of the fire is undetermined and under investigation.
