CASPER, Wyo. — Natrona County Fire District Chief Brian Oliver said at around 6:10 pm Monday, Aug. 3 that firefighters are responding to a wildfire near Poison Spider Road, Zero Road and 12 Mile Road.
“It’s moving pretty good right now,” Oliver said of the fire, noting that winds were impacting the growth of the fire.
He estimated the fire at over 100 acres and that no containment had yet been established. Oliver added that no structures were thought to be immediately threatened by the wildfire, but that structural assessments were underway.

Oliver said that air resources, including a large air tanker, were responding to the fire.

Oliver added that no determination of cause has been made but that the fire was most likely started by lightning.
