CASPER, Wyo. — The Mullen Fire burning in southeast Wyoming and northeast Colorado has grown to 166,588 acres and remains 14 % contained, according to a Wednesday morning update from Mullen Fire Information.
The size of the fire was determined by an infrared flight on Tuesday night.
“The fire was very active yesterday and will continue to be active today,” Mullen Fire Information said.

While winds are expected to be diminished Wednesday relative to recent days, they are still expected to contribute to fire activity. Stronger winds are expected to return Thursday and Friday.
Heavy air tankers will be working in the Albany area on Wednesday for retardant drops, Mullen Fire Information says.
