PHOTOS: Smoke continues to blanket I-80 in Wyoming due to wildfires; highways closed

CASPER, Wyo. — Smoke from wildfires continues to blanket portions of I-80 in Wyoming on Thursday afternoon.

The National Weather Service in Cheyenne said during the morning that the smoke was limiting visibility down to a half-mile in the Laramie area and below two miles in the Walcott Junction area and in Cheyenne.

The Wyoming Department of Transportation urged drivers to stay alert and use caution.

There are also several highway closures still in effect due to the Mullen Fire, according to WYDOT:

  • WY 10 is closed between Woods Landing and the Colorado State Line
  • WY 11 is closed between WY 130 and Albany
  • WY 230 is closed between Woods Landing and the Colorado State Line
