CASPER, Wyo. — The Casper Fire-EMS Department on Wednesday said that “it’s a good time to be thinking about breaking out the mowers and weed eaters.”

The department said that vegetation in the area is drying out and that dry plants pose a “significant fire hazard.”

“The best defense for wildland fire is removing these fuels before any fires occur,” Casper Fire-EMS said. “This is especially important where vegetation is in close proximity to buildings, fences, RVs, vehicles etc.”

“Help us protect your property by mowing these fuels to prevent fires and making your property defensible if one does occur. Stay safe Casper!”
