CASPER, Wyo. — Laramie County Fire District No. 5 said on Monday, November 15 that it has resources responding to a “large, fast-moving grass fire” that is burning in Weld County, Colorado.

“Our department along with other Laramie County resources are currently responding,” LCFD No. 5 said.

The Colorado fire comes after the discovery of a grass fire on the Nebraska panhandle. The Nebraska fire, known as the Buffalo Creek Fire, had burned 1,295 acres as of 7:30 p.m. Sunday, according to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne. That fire is located about 10 miles south of Scottsbluff.

Laramie County Fire District No. 5 said that with fires burning in both Nebraska and Colorado, “resources will be stretched.”

“So we again ask for your cooperation to do your part to be careful and prevent any fire starts,” LCFD No. 5 said.
