CASPER, Wyo —The University of Wyoming Board of Trustees will consider issuing up to $260 million in bonds for new campus housing and a parking facility during its regular teleconference meeting Wednesday, June 16.

“The Wyoming Legislature has authorized the university to issue bonds to finance construction, which is scheduled to begin this fall for the parking facility and in 2022 for the residence halls,” UW said Friday.

Last month, trustees approved the interior and exterior designs of two new residence halls and a dining facility. The new, five-level residence halls will accommodate a total of 900 students, replacing outdated residence halls along Grand Avenue.

Additionally, the board approved the exterior design of a new, three-level parking facility at the site of the current Ivinson parking lot. When completed, the Ivinson Parking Garage will provide spaces for 375 vehicles, as well as the offices of the UW Police Department.

Also on the agenda for consideration is UW’s Fiscal Year 2021-22  budget,  the student financial aid strategy for the 2022-23 academic year,  and the modification of a number of university regulations, UW said.

The board’s complete agenda, along with a report that includes background information on agenda items, will be available here.

The meeting will begin with an executive session at 7 a.m. The public session, expected to begin around 8 a.m., will be livestreamed via UW’s WyoCast system and YouTube.
