CASPER, Wyo. — People wondering what life was like on the Wind River Reservation and at nearby Fort Washakie in the late 19th and early 20th centuries can consider checking out a photography exhibit that is coming to Fort Caspar Museum.

“The Photos of J.K. Moore” display featured images taken by both James K. Moore and his son, James K. Moore, Jr.

“In the late 1800s, Moore Sr. served as both the Indian trader and the post trader for these two sites that are located near present-day Riverton, Wyoming,” Fort Caspar said in a Tuesday announcement.

“The Photos of J.K. Moore” is a traveling exhibit organized by the University of Wyoming’s American Heritage Center. It will be on display at Fort Caspar from June 30 – Sept. 12.

The museum is open 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. daily. Admission is $4 for adults, $3 for seniors and youth ages 13-18, and free for children 12 and under as well as museum members.
