A new time lapse model shows masses of precipitation gathering over Casper around 4 p.m. and again at 11 p.m., which is the end of the simulation.

The Casper forecast calls for scattered showers and possible thunderstorms through 3 a.m. Friday. More showers and cooler temperatures are expected through the weekend.

New rainfall amounts between a tenth- and a quarter-inch are expected, with higher amounts possible in areas affected thunderstorms.
