CASPER, Wyo. — After just over 40 years repairing countless automobiles for Casper residents, Leo’s Beverly Street Auto Repair owner Leo Maddox has decided to hang up his wrenches and sell his business.

According to a release, the business’s new owners, Brett and Kaia Petley, began operating on Aug. 16 and promise to continue the reputation Maddox has earned over the decades.

Maddox started his career back in 1982, when he opened in a former Texaco station on 12th street. He expanded in 1994 with the purchase of a Champion auto store across the street, and in 2003 moved to 1303 S. Beverly St., where the business has operated ever since.

In the release, former employees of Maddox praised their old boss for his work ethic and quality control.

“Leo was an outstanding mentor of what hard work and dedication to a job can reward you with. He demonstrated that daily by working harder than anyone I know,” former employee Nick Hopkins said.

“Anyone that has worked for Leo knows he expects hard work and honest work; in return he works equally as hard and most of the time harder,” former employee Shawn Ficken said in the release. “He shows his employees what customer service is supposed to look like.”

The community is encouraged to attend a celebration and meet-and-greet with the new owners on Sept. 10 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the shop, where the Papa’s Pork Chop food truck will be on site.
