CASPER, Wyo. — The Wyoming Contractors Coalition is donating a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado to Pathways Innovation Center to help pull a mobile science, technology, engineering and mathematics laboratory that aims to provide learning opportunities to students around the Natrona County School District.

A $125,000 grant from the Wyoming Department of Education supported the STEM lab trailer including features like lasers, welding equipment, construction equipment, drones and robotics. Rob Hill, construction teacher at Pathways, helped the school district secure the grant for the STEM trailer.

The truck donated by the Wyoming Contractors Coalition included donations from a variety of suppliers and contractors from not only the Casper area but also other parts of the state, Cody Cline, president of GW Mechanical told the NCSD Board of Trustees on Monday. Cline presented the keys to the truck to Hill during the school board meeting.

Wyoming Signs will work with students at Pathways to design a wrap and wrap the truck. The wrap will list those who donated to support giving the vehicle to the district to support the STEM trailer, Cline said.

The truck is valued at $28,300, a memo from NCSD Superintendent Mike Jennings said.

“The use of the truck will be overseen by the administration at Pathways and will be serviced and maintained by NCSD Transportation,” the memo added.

The NCSD Board of Trustees authorized the acceptance of the donated truck during Monday night’s school board meeting.
