CASPER, Wyo. – The City of Casper announced it will indefinitely suspend activities at its Recreation Center, including the Aquatics Center and Ice Arena.

The announcement comes on the same day Wyoming’s governor suggested all schools in the state close.

The Natrona County School District announced it would close its schools until at least April.

The release follows:

The City of Casper Recreation Center, Aquatics Center and Ice Arena are suspending services indefinitely in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Effective immediately, services offered at these facilities will be closed to the public. This difficult decision was made in coordination with Dr. Dowell, Natrona County Public Health Officer, and in accordance with new recommendations by the Centers for Disease Control.

Staff from all facilities are actively working on creating new opportunities and solutions to potentially offer residents while maintaining a dedication to community safety.

Further information in regard to opportunities and services will be released as soon as possible.

We would like to thank our community for their understanding during this challenging time for all of us. Our goal at the City of Casper’s Parks and Recreation Division is and continues to be providing high-quality recreational activities to our community.

We look forward to serving you again soon.
