CASPER, Wyo. — The Wyoming Department of Health reported 421 new laboratory confirmed cases of COVID-19 during their 3 pm Monday, Nov. 2 update.

Wyoming has now seen a total of 12,059 lab confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic. 86 new probable cases reported Monday brought the state total to 2,108.

The WDH reported a record 132 COVID-19 patients hospitalized across the state on Monday. Wyoming saw a record 431 new lab confirmed COVID-19 cases Friday.

The WDH reported ten additional COVID-19 related deaths among the state’s residents on Thursday, which brought the total to 87.

The average number of new lab confirmed cases per day as of Monday is as follows:

  • last 7 days: 280.4
  • last 14 days: 282.1
  • last 21 days: 253.6

Wyoming’s COVID cases began to surge in mid-September. Today’s average daily cases counts can compare with data from Sept. 15 as follows:

  • 7 day average: 50.3
  • 14 day average: 40.6
  • 21 day average: 35.2

As of Monday morning, Wyoming’s effective reproduction rate of the virus stood at 1.31, according to Rt.live. That’s the highest rate of any state in the country. Anytime the effective reproduction rate is above 1.0, COVID-19 is expected to spread quickly.

250 new recoveries from among people with a lab confirmed case and 37 new probable cases recoveries were reported Monday. A total of 7,649 people with a lab confirmed case and 1,314 with a probable cases have recovered in Wyoming.

The WDH reported 75 new lab confirmed cases in Natrona County on Monday bringing the total to 1,463. Natrona saw four new probable cases, bringing the total to 304.

A total of 856 people with a lab confirmed case and 170 with a probable case in Natrona have recovered as of Monday.
