CASPER, Wyo. — The Wyoming Department of Health reported 703 new laboratory confirmed cases of COVID-19 during their 3 pm Wednesday, Nov. 18 update.
That brings the total to 21,750 since the start of the pandemic. 119 probable cases were also reported on Wednesday, bringing the total to 3,525.
Over half of the confirmed cases in Wyoming have been reported since Oct. 27.
The WDH reported 11 additional COVID-19 related deaths on Tuesday, bringing the total to 155. No additional COVID-19 related deaths were reported Wednesday.
The WDH reported 166 new lab confirmed cases in Natrona County on Wednesday. The total stands at 3,112 since the start of the pandemic. Natrona saw 24 new probable cases reported Wednesday, bringing the total to 654.
As of Wednesday, morning, Wyoming’s effective reproduction rate of the virus stood at 1.17, according to Rt.live. The number reflects the average number of new cases each case is expected to create. Anytime the effective reproduction rate is above 1.0, COVID-19 is expected to spread quickly.
The WDH reported a record 210 COVID-19 patients hospitalized across Wyoming on Wednesday. COVID hospitalizations crossed the 200 mark for the first time on Saturday.
Recovery data had not been updated as of 3:05 pm Wednesday.
462 new recoveries from lab confirmed cases and 43 new probable case recoveries were reported Tuesday. A total of 11,532 people with a lab confirmed case and 1,875 with a probable case have recovered in Wyoming.
1,117 people with a lab confirmed case and 273 people with a probable case have recovered in Natrona County.
