CASPER, Wyo. — Wyoming’s U.S. Senators Mike Enzi and John Barrasso along with Representative Liz Cheney released a joint statement on Monday in support of new restrictions aimed at slowing the spread of COVID-19.

Governor Mark Gordon’s office announced Monday new measures that will include a statewide mask mandate and changes to existing public health orders which will require bars and restaurants to close at 10 pm and add restrictions on group gathering sizes.

“Governor Gordon is committed to protecting Wyoming and his health orders reflect that,” the joint statement from Wyoming’s Congressional Delegation said. “We’ve lost 280 people in Wyoming and more than 280,000 Americans to this virus so far. It’s a real and significant threat.”

“We’re especially worried about protecting our most vulnerable population from this deadly disease. It’s not a cure-all, but wearing a mask and practicing social distancing goes a long way in stopping the spread. These actions will help protect our family, friends and neighbors while still allowing us to keep our state open and working.”
