CASPER, Wyo. — Snowfall totals are in for the Christmas Eve snowstorm that swept over Wyoming, and it appears Lander had the bullseye over it.

The National Weather Service in Riverton released preliminary snowfall report totals on Dec. 24 showing that Lander received between 8 and 11 inches while Buffalo and Worland dodged the bullet with trace to 0.3 inches.

Meteorologists received reports in Casper of between 0.5 and 4 inches of snow, while Casper Mountain reportedly received 6–8 inches.

Other reports show Cody and Star Valley received up to 4 inches of snow, Lucerne got between 2 and 4 inches of snow and Rock Springs got between 1 and 2 inches. Riverton reportedly received 0.5–1.5 inches.

Observed data from the NWS in Riverton show snow totals far less than those reports, including just a half-inch of snow in Casper.

Records haven’t been fully updated due to the holiday, and all reports are considered preliminary at this point.
