An attempted traffic stop led for a registration violation led to a high speed pursuit from Laramie to west of Cheyenne on Tuesday afternoon.

According to a release from the Wyoming Highway Patrol, the driver of a green Acura fled Albany County Deputies during the routine traffic stop.

The vehicle was pursued heading east on I-80. The Wyoming Highway Patrol took lead of the pursuit at milepost 342, according to the release.

Troopers in the Cheyenne area deployed spike strips west of Cheyenne. After hitting the strips, the Acura drove off the roadway into a narrow ditch.

The Acura collided with with two patrol vehicles while attempting again to flee before coming to a stop.

The driver is identified as a 35-year-old Nicole Anne Montano of Rio Rancho, New Mexico. She has been charged with aggravated assault, reckless driving, fleeing to elude and other traffic violations.

The passenger is identified as 33-year-old Thien Uong of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Uong is charged with possession of stolen property and has active warrants for his arrest in Nebraska and Kansas, according to the release.

Two troopers were treated and released at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center for minor injuries.
