As a regional trauma and referral center, Banner Wyoming Medical Center is the largest hospital in Wyoming and provides comprehensive heart, stroke and trauma care and more to the people of Wyoming. The hospital’s team is made up of people with a genuine desire to take care of their friends, family and neighbors and to keep that care in the state.

Meet Bree,
A chemistry-loving,
yoga-practicing,
girl-mom pharmacist.
For as long as she can remember, Bree Gray has wanted to be a pharmacist. She doesn’t have any family who worked in healthcare and can’t quite put her finger on why she wanted to do it.
“I just love science and math, I guess,” she says. She proudly calls her periodic table shower curtain “the coolest thing EVER!”
Bree grew up in Casper and went to Casper College for her prerequisites before moving on to pharmacy school at the University of Wyoming. She has been a pharmacist at Banner Wyoming Medical Center since 2012. She particularly enjoys working in the emergency department.
“Emergency medicine is really my passion,” she says.
In her free time, Bree stays busy fixing up her house with her husband and running her three daughters to their many dance activities. She also enjoys practicing yoga and gardening when she can find time.
Meet Stacey,
A quilt-making,
kid-running,
people-loving
quality specialist.
Stacey Pfielsticker started out her healthcare career as a CNA and decided to get her bachelor’s degree in gerontology, the study of old age. She worked in nursing home admissions for awhile, but missed being hands-on with patients and went back to school to pursue her nursing degree. Stacey has worked as a bedside nurse for much of her career and in recent years has worked as a specialist for the heart and trauma programs at Banner Wyoming Medical Center. She is currently a quality specialist for our trauma program.
Originally from the Denver area, Stacey moved to Casper in 2010.
“Casper is family oriented and a great place to raise kids,” she says.
When she’s not working, Stacey enjoys hanging out with her husband and two young children, and when she can find the time, she loves breaking out her sewing machine and quilting.
“I call myself bohemian,” she says of her quilting style. “I love the colors.”
Meet Sara,
A risk-taking,
puppy-loving,
deer-hunting
stroke nurse.
Sara Kemper has been a nurse for about seven years, and has spent the last three as Banner Wyoming Medical Center’s stroke coordinator. She coordinates care plans for stroke patients, educates team members on the latest stroke protocols and participates in events in the community to help people prevent stroke.
Sara is the first person in her family to get a degree and she ultimately decided that she wanted to do something where she could give back to the community, so nursing was a good fit. She started out as a bedside nurse taking care of many stroke patients on the Neuro unit before transitioning to the coordinator role.
“Working with these patients really makes you appreciate the things we all take for granted every day,” says Sara.
At home, Sara is game for just about anything from sky diving, hunting in the Wyoming wilderness, or her ultimate favorite — playing with her puppy, Teddy.
Meet Stephanie,
A water-loving,
boat-shing,
novel-reading,
OR nurse.
Even as a child, Stephanie Houck was always interested in medicine. She started out her career path thinking about pre-med, but eventually decided nursing was a better fit. Now she’s approaching 20 years as an operating room nurse, where she’s spent her whole career.
“The operating room is awesome,” she says. “It’s fun because it’s everything — it might be a trauma or something scheduled, but it’s never boring.” Stephanie loves the variability of her day and that her job is always interesting and she’s always learning.
On Stephanie’s days off, you can find her reading a book or fishing on her boat on the river. In the summertime, she enjoys traveling in her RV for her teenage sons’ baseball games.
