Douglas, Wyoming — Proudly known as the Home of the Jackalope, Douglas is once again preparing for one of its most beloved traditions — Jackalope Days, taking place this June. This long-standing celebration brings together residents, visitors, businesses and organizations for a vibrant, multi-day event honoring National Jackalope Day, officially observed on the second Saturday of June.

Now more than 50 years strong, Jackalope Days has grown into a community-wide celebration full of family-friendly fun — with nearly all activities free to attend. While the excitement begins with events in the first week of June, the main festivities are set for June 13–15, featuring a schedule packed with small-town charm and high-energy entertainment.

Celebration Highlights:

  • Railroad Day on Friday, June 13 — Enjoy a free hot dog lunch hosted by UniWyo Credit Union, live music by Chad Lore, interactive train exhibits, Art in the Park and the Children’s Entrepreneur Market.
  • Ride, Row & Run — A thrilling three-leg race hosted by the Outdoor Enthusiasts of Converse County (OECC), featuring biking, paddling and running.
  • Live music, vendor fairs, food trucks and street dances throughout the weekend.
  • Family favorites like the Dog Races, Chalk Fest and the Car Show.
  • The weekend concludes with the MHCC Block Party and Douglas Community Awards on Sunday evening.

Friday’s Railroad Day promises something for everyone. Visitors can enjoy live music, explore the historic train and museum exhibits, tour the grounds or let kids explore the interactive train cab filled with lights and sounds — perfect for photo ops! Young entrepreneurs will showcase their talents at the Children’s Market, while families can get hands-on with crafts, chalk art and demonstrations from local artists during Arts in the Park.

A standout of the weekend, the Ride, Row & Run adventure race kicks off Saturday morning at the Wyoming State Fairgrounds, with check-in at 7 a.m. and race start at 8 a.m. Participants will take on an 18-mile bike ride, a 4-mile paddle (canoe, kayak or paddleboard) and a 3.5-mile run through scenic Douglas. The race offers prizes for top finishers, commemorative gear for all racers and a complimentary lunch. Registration is open now at:
