Visit Casper’s Casper Anthem competition puts local creativity in the spotlight as the community awaits the announcement of a $10,000 winning song.

What does Casper sound like?

Maybe it’s the North Platte River rushing over the rocks, the wind blowing across Casper Mountain, or the sounds of a bustling downtown on a Friday night. Or maybe it’s something harder to describe — that unmistakable feeling of being part of a community that’s proud of who it is and where it comes from.

Whatever that sound may be, Visit Casper decided to put local musicians to work!

Through Visit Casper’s Casper Anthem competition, musicians were invited to put their love for Casper into words and music, creating an original anthem that celebrates the people, places, and experiences that make our corner of Wyoming so special.

And with the October 31 submission deadline now behind us, the excitement is building as Visit Casper prepares to select the Top 2 Finalists, and ultimately, the contest’s winning song.

A $10,000 Prize and a Chance to Make Casper History

There’s a lot to love about Casper. From our wide-open spaces and western roots to our growing arts scene, outdoor adventures, and the people who make this community feel like home, there’s no shortage of inspiration for a great song. But how do you capture all of that in just a few minutes of music?

That’s the challenge Visit Casper put before local songwriters, with a pretty exciting incentive: $10,000 for the winning artist and the opportunity to have their original song featured in a professionally produced music video promoting Casper.

Set to debut in summer 2027, the music video will pair the winning song with scenes of Casper’s beautiful landscapes, local businesses, attractions, and everyday moments that make this place worth celebrating.

The finished video will help introduce the spirit and personality of Casper to potential visitors and hopefully, create a sense of pride and unity among the hard-working folks who choose to call Casper home.
