CASPER, Wyo. — The Wyoming Supreme Court issued orders on Tuesday, Oct. 6 to raise the cost to file documents in district and circuit courts in the state in December.

The three orders “collectively increase the cost of filing papers in Wyoming district and circuit courts by electronic means, i.e., via fax or by e-mail, to $1.00 per page,” the Wyoming State Bar said in a press release. “If payment for such filings is not received within 10 days of the clerk’s receipt of the electronic filing, the judge may strike the filing or dismiss the case.”

The electronic filing fee could be waived if court’s determine that parties are indigent or are entitled to court-appointed lawyers.  

“The increase will go into effect December 7, 2020,” the release adds.
