CASPER, Wyo. — The Wyoming Legislature are set to re-convene on Wednesday for an eight-day virtual session.

The legislature initially convened for the 2021 General Session on Jan. 12 when a limited number of bills were introduced. Legislative committees met virtually last week to work on some of the legislation.

During the up-coming eight-day virtual session, the legislature will continue to work on the legislation considered by the committees.

“Cross-over will take place on Friday,” the Legislative Service Office says. “If final action is not taken on a bill in the house of origin, the bill may be considered in a reconvened session. Additional bills may be introduced and referred to standing committees and heard during the week of Feb. 22.”

The up-coming eight day virtual session will run through Feb. 5.

“Livestream video of the House, Senate, standing committee meetings and any joint conference committees will take place on Zoom and be available for the public to view via the Legislatures YouTube Channel,” the LSO says.

The public is able to testify during standing committee meetings. People can “register to enter the Zoom meeting for each committee by clicking the testify button provided on the Legislatures calendar page. Entities that wish to provide written materials to the committees should email documents to committee members and to LegDocs@wyoleg.gov.

The public is also able to express support or opposition for proposed legislation via an Online Hotline.

“The public can also sign up to receive daily meeting and floor calendars through the Legislatures email subscription service,” the LSO adds. “To sign up, click on the GovDelivery link located at the top of the homepage at www.wyoleg.gov.”

The public can view proposed legislation and track its status at the Wyoming Legislature’s 2021 General Session Bills page.

The legislature may re-convene in-person on March 1 if COVID-19 metrics allow, according to the LSO.
