CASPER, Wyo. – Hollywood superheroes are lining up to honor Wyoming’s real life superhero.
English actor Tom Holland, who currently plays Spider-Man in the blockbuster franchise, called Bridger Walker in Cheyenne on Thursday to wish him well and invite him to the set of the latest Spider-Man movie when it resumes production.
The phone call was captured on video and posted by Bridger’s aunt on her Instagram account.
Bridger, 6, is receiving world wide attention after he bravely saved his 4-year-old sister from an attacking dog earlier this month. He required 90 stitches after the dog mauled his cheek. In spite of his injuries, he was able to take his sister to safety.
Bridger, a superfan of superheroes, has received calls and social media posts from stars from the Avengers franchise, including a video by Captain America star Chris Evans praising the boy’s bravery.
On Thursday, actor Holland told Bridger “you are so brave, mate, and we are all so proud of you and your little sister is so lucky to have you.”
He then asked Bridger what movie he was watching, and when he responded “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” in which Holland stars, the actor joked, “you’re even more of a hero now!”
The actor gave Bridger an open invitation to visit the set of the third installment of this Spider-Man series. “You’ll always be my guest,” he said.
